Inspired by the centuries-old architecture and rural landscape of Ibiza, Of Origin - established in 2016 - is a natural, planet-friendly footwear and clothing brand that uses mainly just two fibers: jute and linen. Of Origin is the brainchild of founder Camilla Skovgaard, who made a name for herself as a successful footwear designer with her eponymous label, but after becoming disenchanted by the waste and the ephemeral nature of fast fashion, she moved to Ibiza, igniting a complete change of lifestyle. ​It was here that the Danish designer launched Of Origin, a fashion brand rooted in sustainability. Using ancient fibers that require minimal water, pesticides and fertilizers, their pared back designs are made for everyday living, in harmony with nature. Production is kept as local as possible with their unisex, jute sandals handmade in Spain, and their linen grown, spun and sewn in Lithuania or Northern Ireland. Of Origin is all about eco-conscious, Mediterranean simplicity. ​All Of Origin's shoes are lovingly made by hand by their artisans, stitch by stitch using waxed jute thread. At the end of its lifecycle the shoes are biodegradable and can be put back down into the earth without polluting the environment. Of Origin's ethos of biodegradability is part of a re-alignment back to essential values, less waste, calmer living, simplicity and quality.
